We want to send a thanks to our friend and customer, Jay, down in Texas for sending in this photo of his new Tesla car being charged. Jay needed to buy #3 awg THHN building wire in order for him to charge up his new electric car.
According to Jay:
" I had to hook up the fastest sports car on the market . 0- 60 in 3.9 seconds! Tesla has the fastest super chargers out there, takes 30 minutes to recharge, BUT you need 100 amp #3AWG wire to do it!"
Jay also sent us a link on some interesting facts about the history of electric cars:
Did you know that the first vehicles were electric and not combustion?
“Electric cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century, until advances in internal combustion engine technology and mass production of cheaper gasoline vehicles led to a decline in the use of electric drive vehicles” Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
The picture above is Thomas Edison & a Detroit Electric Car in 1913.
We appreciate the info, Jay, and look forward to seeing the progress of electric cars in our country!
